Zoë Bands are handmade uni-sex bracelets made from the life vests refugees wear on their dangerous journey into Lesvos, Greece.
All profit goes towards providing refugees with critical resources like food, clothing and medical supplies.
Our venture was launched after Zoë and I (Xander) spent time volunteering on Lesvos. We were frustrated by both the lack of aid available to refugees and the lack of awareness regarding the refugee crisis back in our home country, America.
We designed our organization to not only support the refugees, but also their economically embattled Greek hosts, who were already suffering mightily before the refugee influx.
We do so by employing locals to manufacture the bands, use littered life vests as our source material to clean up the beaches and purchase all refugee aid from local restaurants, grocery stores, retailers and pharmacies.
